Late Bloomer – National Heirloom Expo 2013 – Episode 2.16 covers just a taste of this year’s three-day event in Santa Rosa, California. There were hundreds of food and seed producers and exhibitors, and thousands of participants enjoyed a wide range of foods, heirloom seeds and products, as well as live music. Kaye visited for only one day, but this episode shows a wide variety and entices people who care about food security to participate next year.

Dr. Vandana Shiva speaks about seed freedom

Do you know where your food comes from? You will if you visit the National Heirloom Expo!

More of Dr. Shiva’s speech given at the Watts Labor Community Action Center here.

I was so motivated after hearing Dr. Shiva speak about seed freedom, that I wrote a seed animation for this episode, which my graphics artist MIka Tanisaki set to motion. Original mandolin music by Jon Pileggi. I hope you enjoy it! And I hope you enjoy this small taste of the National Heirloom Expo! Thanks for watching and please share with friends. October 16th is World Food Day, and October 12 is the next March Against Monsanto. Take action for food freedom.
