| July 11, 2012 | 10 Replies

Catch all the fun, and fireworks, with Kaye in her garden on July 4th! You’ll see all the regular neighbors and a couple of new faces! Kaye transplants strawberries, creates a blueberry bog (red and blue!), and greets neighbors in this patriotic episode. Check out her salad at the end. Go to youtube for high quality. Thanks for watching, and please share with friends! Help “Late Bloomer” grow. – Kaye

  1. Aww, very cute! Those darn roots will always be an excuse to sit down and rest…for me everytime!

    • Thanks, Teresa! I’m getting the hang of writing/producing/directing/acting and shooting, haha. Thanks for watching, and please share with at least 2 friends! Got to get “Late Bloomer” growing:)!

Aww I loved this entry!!! I want to start with blueberries next year, so I love the acidic soil tip, and to use the peat moss on top! And now I’m hungry bc your salad looked delicious! Hope you have a great July 4th, I’m Canadian so I celebrated just a few days before! Take Care!

    • Thanks, so much!! Sophia’s parents are from Canada (the cute girl at the end who drops by a lot). Are you related? I know her grandparents up there are watching. Yeah, read up on blueberries, and get the variety (or varieties if they are not self-pollinating) that do best in your climate zone. Also, read about how to create a bog. There’s a lot more to it than I went into here. Thanks again! – Kaye

Kaye, You are so adorable! I love your shows and marvel at how you put it all together….no small challenge I’m sure. You’re team is certainly doing a great job.

    • Thank you, Anna! It was an epiphany, divine inspiration, that I should pool my talents and new-found passion for growing my own food (I just never saw it as possible before, but clearly it is!) to spread a positive message that could be heard by all, and hopefully, it will inspire folks, who don’t now, to consider the soil, water and air, and not take it for granted. If I can grow “Late Bloomer,” the more people I can reach. I am not just doing this to preach to the already converted, haha, but, it’s a treat to entertain them also! Thank you for your support!

Kaye, Behold a woman on a mission! I’m wondering if there is a way to get this out to the kids in your area. That ( I believe ) is a grand way to spread the word… Hook the kids and the parents totter along.

  5. Well, school is out till September and you have to get in curriculum, which is so very planned. But, I might be able to present at the Waldorf school where things aren’t so rigid, and I was there for 5 years with my son Will. Also, the next episode is a school garden in Woodside CA and I’m hoping the 2nd grade teacher will share with his classes. Thanks!
