A few of Kaye’s Tomato Seedlings

I planted over 200 seeds this year, 150 of them tomato! Nine varieties were from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds and the Indigo Rose seeds were from Box Organics on Etsy. The prolific Red Cherry is from Seeds of Change. I also got Serendipity and Gary O’Sena seeds from a friend.

After 30 plants died to damping off, I planted up about 170 plants, about 120 of them tomato. There is no cure for damping off, and it’s heartbreaking to discover your lovingly tended seedlings laying over on their side, but good management practices can usually prevent damping off.
